Dreams are mysterious. They leave our waking bodies with lucid truths that spill over the edges of our certainties. They challenge the "laws" of existence that industrial, colonial culture so dutifully feeds us. Disturbing, terrifying, exciting, astonishing, soothing, healing - dreams are terrascapes whose entangling webwork pulses with the possibility and promise of initiation and transformation. Dreams extend their golden tendrils, connecting us to a cosmic, mycelial network beyond our control.

Have you ever woken to find that your mother is a river dolphin who swims in cosmic waters that cascade over moon cliffs on a purple planet? Maybe you've been asked to stand upon gold stars embedded within the sandy sea floor, made possible because you can breathe underwater! Perhaps you've been disturbed and allured by sharks your whole life, their visages relentlessly stalking and courting your sleeping hours. Or maybe a toaster oven is also a sacred scroll that you were tasked to safeguard for the day when all the birds sing together.

Dreams are imaginal playgrounds of becoming. They are living ecologies that shape and reshape who we are, inviting us into stretches of wondrous participation. Their effects can last well beyond the hours our eyes are closed, and our tidy narratives of self and world tucked into their beds of rest. They can cling to our awareness, and embed themselves deep in the cellular tissues of our animal bodies. Peoples of all species dream, and humans, for centuries, have sought the wisdom and wonder that swims through the dream stream as if it were a watery song spilling from the mouths of unknown and evolving goddesses.
